The Geoscience Learning Center (GLC), in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, is a tutoring center for all students enrolled in EAS courses. The GLC is located in room 136 of the Lamar Fleming Jr. building and is staffed by our graduate student teaching assistants.
The purpose of the GLC is to provide a second approach to the study of geology, outside of classroom-led instruction. The study of geosciences can cover a vast amount of material and the time spent in formal classes is limited. The GLC provides opportunities for hands-on examination of minerals and rocks, interactive demonstrations, and one-on-one or small-group tutorials. The center also has an augmented reality sandbox, a river modeling table, and petrographic microscopes. Our ultimate goal is to make learning easier and more enjoyable by allowing a more personal encounter with geologists, geophysicists, and atmospheric scientists.
Spring 2026
The Spring 2026 GLC hours are TAB. The schedule will be posted during the second week of the semester.
