Clinical Assistant Professor Hope Rigby-Wills ran a summer pilot program to help address literacy gaps among Houston-area elementary school students while giving real-world coaching to UH education students.

Future educators spent a week teaching elementary students in Costa Rica as part of a College of Education learning abroad program focused on culturally responsive teaching. “This experience showed me that I am capable of teaching in a diverse classroom,” said teaching major Areeba Sohail.

A daylong conference led by the Asian American Studies Center, housed in the College of Education, drew more than 140 middle and high school students to explore AI's impact on leadership. “Our goal was not simply to teach students about AI technology but to encourage them to think more deeply about what it means to be a human leader in an AI-driven world,” said AASC Director Yali Zou.
