UH Education Students Gain Global Perspective on Teaching
Future educators spent a week teaching elementary students in Costa Rica as part of a College of Education learning abroad program focused on culturally responsive teaching. “This experience showed me that I am capable of teaching in a diverse classroom,” said teaching major Areeba Sohail.
UH Professor Recognized for Contributions to Mathematics Education
Carrie S. Cutler, a clinical professor at the University of Houston College of Education, received a top award from the Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics for nearly 30 years of work advancing the field. “When teachers develop confidence and a math-positive mindset, that influence extends to countless children and families,” she said.
