Award-Winning Educators Emphasize the Power of Reading in a Digital World
Four UH College of Education faculty and alumnae who earned statewide honors from the Texas Council of Teachers of English Language Arts in 2026. Together, the recipients represent the College’s reach across literacy education — from teaching high school students and supporting teachers across a district to preparing future educators and literacy leaders.
Education Graduate Students Honored for Academics, Leadership & Service
The University of Houston College of Education spotlighted six students in honor of Graduate Student Appreciation Week. The honorees were nominated by faculty based on academic excellence, leadership and contributions to the College community. “Being selected made me feel that the faculty and community genuinely valued my work,” said doctoral student Xincui Zhang.
New Faculty Join UH College of Education for Fall 2026
The four assistant professors bring expertise in literacy, social studies and science education as well as public health. “I was drawn to UH because of its strong commitment to interdisciplinary research, especially in literacy, special education and community-engaged partnerships,” said incoming faculty member Albert W. Li.
