Thuy Hanh Trinh, M.D., M.B.A., FAAFP, FAAHPM, HMDC, WCC

Thuy Hanh Trinh, M.D., M.B.A., FAAFP, FAAHPM, HMDC, WCC, is adjunct faculty and a Physicians, Patients and Populations small-group facilitator in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health Sciences. She has more than 20 years of experience in primary care and hospice medicine and has received training in family medicine, geriatric medicine, hospice and palliative medicine, and wound care.

Her work focuses on advancing primary care initiatives that overcome barriers to accessing care, bridging knowledge gaps for future physicians, and easing concerns surrounding end-of-life care for patients, their families and provider teams. She also has special interests in elder abuse prevention, technology and wound care. She serves on the Region VI Adult Protective Services Board.

Trinh completed her family medicine residency and faculty development fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by fellowships in geriatric medicine and symptom control and palliative care. A proud University of Houston alumna, she earned her M.B.A. from the University of Houston. She earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School. She also earned a Master of Space Studies from the International Space University and a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, summa cum laude, from Boston University College of Engineering.
