Testing Requisite Checks
An essential component to the deployment of requisite checks that perform as expected is detailed testing.
Testing is a methodical process that requires
- Experience and insight to understand the various scenarios that might be presented by students
- Those assigned to test should be part of the team's discussion to identify the test cases.
- Planning to collect test cases
- careful consideration should be given to those that might have
- transfer credit,
- test credit,
- grades of Incomplete
- insufficient academic standing where otherwise would qualify
- enrollment holds (negative service indicators)
- careful consideration should be given to those that might have
- Proficiency in use of the PeopleSoft registration tool.
- Testers should know how to add/drop/swap.
- Testers should understand the desired result for each test case.
It is highly recommended that the user designated to manage requisites have a strong working knowledge of department/college curriculum management policies and protocol, class schedule development, and enrollment (add/drop) processing before embarking on the implementation of requisites.
