Summer Tutoring

Peer tutoring sessions are drop-in! No appointment necessary. If you are taking classes this semester and curious to see if we have a tutor for that course to assist you, check out our Weekly Tutor Schedule to view the courses we have available. For summer, tutoring will be available online and in-person.

How to access Online Tutoring 

Our online tutoring will be on Microsoft Teams. The access code for this channel is “gyvkpex." You can also join the channel during this link.

Summer Tutoring Hours

Summer Tutoring will be available ONLINE and IN-PERSON starting Monday, June 8th until Tuesday, August 18. Tutoring will be closed on University holidays.

Summer TSI Math Program

LAUNCH is offering a free summer tutoring for the math portion of the TSI. Our summer program is available online via Teams during our summer hours of operations (see above.) We can assist students who are preparing to take the TSI exam for the first time and students are planning to re-take the exam before Fall. To learn more about TSI, refer to the university's TSI webpage.

Preparing for Tutoring

1. Our tutoring is drop-in and on a first come, first serve basis. Listed below are the steps to prepare for tutoring.
2. Bring your TSI score report to the session if you've previously taken the exam. This sheet will help the tutor identify content areas for you to practice with. See steps to view your score here.
3. If you haven't taken the TSI test yet, here are some practice tests to familiarize yourself with material. You can bring the attempted work with you and tell the tutor what content areas you need more practice with.
4. Enter Teams, and open the General channel. Post a message stating "TSI Tutoring". A tutor will respond to your message, greeting you and give further instructions on how to sign-in to our tutoring system.
5. When you attend the virtual session, we recommend turning on your camera for the tutor. 
6. After attending tutoring sessions, you can take your TSI math test and if you pass it, you will not need an developemental math class in the Fall.
