Launched 2024-25, Space City Medievalism brings medieval literature into dialogue with contemporary creative voices. Staging encounters between contemporary poets and medieval literature in Houston, TX, this innovative series includes workshops where scholars and poets explore medieval poetics, resulting in original compositions that translate, adapt and reimagine centuries-old literary traditions for today’s audiences.

Space City Medievalism includes support from the Medieval Academy of America’s Centennial Grants Program, the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance, and multiple University of Houston and community partners.
