Wednesday, April 9, 2025
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Join us for an extraordinary evening where medieval culture meets modern voices at the Space City Medievalism Poetry Reading. Experience new poetry inspired by centuries-old literature and rare premodern objects from the Menil Collection’s outstanding holdings. This unique collaboration, supported by the Medieval Academy of America’s Centennial Grants program, brings together graduate students and scholars who spent a year exploring the intersection of medieval literature and contemporary creative expression.
Featuring original works by students from the University of Houston’s English, Creative Writing and Spanish Creative Writing programs, alongside UH and UH Downtown faculty, this reading celebrates how ancient texts continue to inspire fresh artistic visions.
