Peer Assistant Leaders (PALs) are trained peer coaches who can help you set goals, work through challenges, find campus resources, and make the most of your UH experience. Designed to support incoming students as they begin their journey at the University of Houston. This community offers a welcoming space where first-year students can connect with peers, engage with campus resources, and smoothly transition into college life. Students are encouraged to ask questions, seek guidance, and build community in a supportive environment.  
Helps transfer students acclimate to UH life, attend campus events, and fosters a strong sense of Cougar pride. This community provides guidance for transfer students in mapping out a clear, confident path to graduation.
  • Creating Community: Students will foster a sense of community with their peers in Cougar DENS by engaging in meaningful conversations and collaborative activities that support their academic and social integration into the University of Houston.
  • Developing Institutional Affinity: Students will develop a strong connection to the University of Houston by actively participating in campus events, utilizing university resources, and embracing the Cougar spirit, thereby enhancing their sense of belonging and institutional pride.
  • Safe Space for Questions: Students will have access to a supportive environment within Cougar DENS where they can freely ask questions, express concerns, and seek guidance, ensuring they feel heard and supported throughout their university journey.
