Shayne Lee is associate professor of Sociology and the author of four books. His first three books cover religion, media, and sexuality and his fourth book, Tyler Perry’s America: Inside His Films, offers a comprehensive exploration of the sociocultural relevance of Tyler Perry’s movies. Shayne's current book manuscript is entitled Black Theodicy: Cinema, Suffering, and the Modern God, and his future book projects include 1) an analysis of the cinematic interface of Catholicism and sex; 2) a sociological study on Ingmar Bergman’s films.
