Microsoft Education LTI
Important Update About OneDrive in Canvas
The current OneDrive LTI will be deprecated September 30, 2026.
In preparation for this change, the Microsoft Education LTI has been enabled for all courses and the legacy OneDrive LTI placements disabled. Content must be migrated prior to September 30. Users will continue to have access to content in the legacy drive during the migration process.
Using OneDrive in Microsoft Education
To use OneDrive requires using the Microsoft Education LTI. Microsoft Education includes several Microsoft products. However, only OneDrive is being used. Microsoft Education has several placements in each course. When selected, it will launch into an authentication window. Use your CougarNet account credentials to authenticate.
Legacy Content must be Migrated
Legacy content must be migrated before September 30, 2026. The migrations process must be performed on each course. To migrate follow these steps:
Migration Steps:
-
- Open the course.
- Make sure you are on the Home page.
- Locate the OneDrive Migration Tool in the right-side menu.
- Click the link.
- When the authorization page appears, select Authorize.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Once authorized, the tool will scan the course for legacy OneDrive content.
- Choose the content you want to migrate and click Migrate.
- Repeat this process for each course.
Note: You do not need to migrate content that will not be used in future semesters.
