Houston Shakespeare Festival: Romeo & Juliet

The greatest love story ever told, Shakespeare’s powerful masterwork of exhilarating love and loss will capture your imagination and leave you breathless. Two star-crossed lovers are swept up by the hatred of their warring families, and they dare to believe their love is strong enough to overcome the violence around them. Produced by the UH School of Theatre & Dance and the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts. This performance will also be livestreamed! You can watch it on YouTube, Facebook or the Miller Outdoor Theatre website.

Fall under the spell of Shakespeare’s magical tale of midsummer madness. It is a wild night for lovers as an adventure in an enchanted forest leads to mischievous fairies playing tricks and a troupe of bumbling actors. Love, magic and mischief fills the forest as fantastical dreams blur with reality. Produced by the UH School of Theatre & Dance and the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts. This program is a conversation with local experts focused on the unique and complex housing related issues facing mature homeowners and their families. This month’s topic is Wills, Trusts & Probate. Learn from a panel of legal experts how to plan and manage in your best interests and in those of your beneficiaries. This program is geared toward older adults and their family members. It is free and open to the public. No registration required.

Reel Talk is a series of documentary screenings at University Branch Library with brief discussions of the films after they are shown. This month, we’re viewing Won’t You Be My Neighbor? This documentary explores the life and legacy of Fred Rogers and the impact of his TV program, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. It runs 1 hour and 34 minutes. It is rated PG13.
