ABOUT THE FRIENDS OF THE SCHOOL OF ART

Friends of the School of Art is a group of engaged supporters of the arts and arts education offering
educational programming and opportunities for dialogue around the place of the University of Houston School of Art at the heart of Houston’s rich visual arts community.

Members have the opportunity to engage regularly through exclusive events with the faculty and
graduate students who make the UH School of Art a leader in arts education, production, and exhibition.

The Friends of the School of Art offers Houston’s only opportunity to consistently with established artists on the UH faculty and emerging artists in the largest MFA in Visual Arts program – and the only one of its kind at a public university-- in Houston.

The UH School of Art drives Houston’s visual arts scene through community engagement, innovative
practice, and rigorous academic inquiry. The Friends of the School of Art support this work by funding programming, scholarships, and capital improvements.
