Elysia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Oakland University, where she developed a strong foundation in psychological theory, trauma awareness, and human development. This academic grounding continues to inform her thoughtful, ethical, and empathetic approach to collaborating with individuals in sensitive and complex situations.

Prior to joining the University of Houston, Elysia served as an advocate for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. In this role, she provided steady, compassionate support—fostering environments where survivors felt believed, supported, and empowered to define their own paths forward. Her work reflects a core belief that meaningful support is rooted not in direction, but in partnership—walking alongside individuals with clarity, respect, and consistency.
