Tatiana Vintu

Associate Professor, Design

Tatiana Vintu is a scenographer, creator, and experimenter who strives to capture all the diversity of non-tangible environments which influence the audience. She is focusing on using the latest trends and innovations in performance design practices. As an Associate Professor in the School of Theatre & Dance in the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts at the University of Houston, she teaches and works in the area of Scenography and is the Head of the M.F.A. track in Scenic Design.

 

In addition to her work at the University of Houston, she has designed professionally for many theater and film productions in Europe, the U.S. and Asia. Her designs were displayed at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space (PQ) and selected and published at the USITT Conference. She received her MFA in Theatre/Production Set Design from Tulane University (New Orleans, Louisiana). She also studied Scenography at the National University of Theatrical and Cinematic Arts, (Bucharest, Romania); and completed her BFA in Scenography at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Visual Arts (Chisinau, Moldova).

 

Currently, Tatiana is the Head-Curator for USITT- PRAGUE QUADRENNIAL 2023, and most recently was a Curator for USITT-PRAGUE QUADRENNIAL 2019 and Curator for INNOVATIVE COSTUME OF THE 21ST CENTURY: THE NEXT GENERATION 2019
