Texas Obesity Research Center Inaugural Conference.
The Texas Obesity Research Center (TORC) held its inaugural conference on April 9-10, 2009 at the Rockwell Pavilion in MD Anderson Library, University of Houston.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. James F. Sallis, PhD, Professor of Psychology at San Diego State University and the Program Director of Active Living Research. Dr. Sallis is a nationally and internationally recognized authority on measurement development, interventions, ethnically diverse populations, school programs, adolescent health, and project management.

About TORC:
The Texas Obesity Research Center (TORC) was launched with the intent to promote interdisciplinary research, education and training and foster local community collaborations to develop state-of-the-art Obesity Prevention and Control methodologies through cross sectional and longitudinal research investigating psychosocial, environmental and biologic determinants of obesity and its consequences.
